Defining your Target and Niche market in 4 easy steps
Most service professionals, coaches, consultants, and etc. have a difficult time defining their niche. As I have mentioned in my blog – The 3 connections you need, to make your life and business successful! Most of your confusions are related to lack of alignment between your heart (passion), mind, and body.
It is simpler, when you focus on what you really want, who you really want to serve, and why you want to serve them. You know this information, and have thought about it many times before starting your business. However, now you may be afraid, because you are focusing only on generating income, and may have forgotten what has put you on this path.
Here are 4 easy steps to define your niche and target market again:
- Who do you want to serve? It is hard to work with everyone. Even though you may be able to help everyone, there is a group of people that you love to work with, who would love to work with you. Think about the ideal client that you have always wanted to serve. List the people that you have helped in the past. Which ones have you most enjoyed working with? You are on the wrong track if you are thinking too much about this one.
- What do you know about the people that you want to serve? What do they do? Where do they live? What pains do they have? What are they looking for? What can you do for them? How would they feel after working with you? The more you know about them the better you can connect with them.
- What specific value do you provide that they want? Why would they want to work with you? How do you differentiate your services from your competition? What talent, expertise, experience, or knowledge do you have that they want? What is so unique about you or the way you provide service to your customers? - Where can you find your ideal clients? Where do they gather? What do they read? What groups or organizations do they belong to? Where do they search online?
The next step is to create your message and connect with your target market and tell them how you can solve their problems and why they must work with you. Ultimately, it is your level of energy, passion, and confidence that separates you from others.
