  • 5 Rewards of Strong Foundations for Service Professionals

Most service professionals are passionate about what they do.  Their intention is to help others, and they start their business to serve the target market that they are passionate about.  However, running a business requires knowledge, skills and strengths.  You will pay the price, and learn many new things along the way.  This experience is invaluable, regardless of the outcome.  Not everyone will succeed, unfortunately.  Many service and solo professionals don’t have the mindset, or the resources, to thrive.

Here are 5 reasons why Service Professionals must have a strong Personal and Marketing Foundation:

    1. With a Strong Marketing and Personal Foundation, you can follow your path, even with limited visibility. Imagine you are driving in a new, fully equipped car, with your family, in a foggy, dark night on a mountain road.  How concerned are you about what is ahead?  Most of us would be cautious, but not afraid.  Now, imagine the same situation, but you are driving an unreliable car, with old tires.  How concerned are you about what is ahead?  A strong Marketing and Personal Foundation provides the confidence you need to move forward with your plans.

    2. A Strong personal and Marketing Foundation provide the support you need to grow your business. Starting a business is similar to having a new child in some ways!! Your child needs your support to grow.  The same is true about your business; it requires a lot of your time, resources, and attention to grow.   Therefore, you must be prepared to do whatever is needed to nurture your business.

    3. A Strong Personal and Business foundation helps you survive the storms. Business is unpredictable; we need a strong mindset to deal with challenges.  Service professionals with a strong Personal and Marketing Foundation can navigate through any rough conditions.

    4. A Strong Marketing and Personal Foundation enable service professionals to trust and follow their intuition.  Knowing who you are, what you are doing, and why you are doing it, increases your confidence, and prepares you for what’s ahead.  Knowing that you are moving toward what you want, gives you the power and the confidence you need to listen to your intuition.  Instead of reacting to situations, you are proactively navigating your way forward.  You recognize your fears, but you listen to your intuition and choose what is best for your business. Even if you make mistakes, you have the strength to change direction, knowing that you are on the right path.

    5. A strong Personal and Marketing foundation eliminates distractions, and provides the clarity and focus to follow your plans.  You are focused when your personal and business desires are fully aligned.  You know what you want to do, and where you want to go.  Your clarity about your direction and priorities enable you to notice and eliminate the distractions, and focuses you on the destination.

You must have a strong Personal Foundation to face the challenges and to stay with plans, no matter what comes up. Business is a game, and similar to most competitive games, it is won or lost internally.  It requires preparation and practice.  Therefore, it is essential for all service professionals to develop a strong Business and Marketing Foundation that can carry your business through the rough terrain.
